Some great news has come on Star Wars Day for gamers. Electronic Arts announced Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Titanfall, is working on a new Star Wars game. Executive Vice President of EA Studios, Patrick Söderlund, announced Respawn will make a new 3rd person action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe. They join Visceral Games, DICE, and BioWare as one of several studios working on a new Star Wars game.

The team is being lead by Stig Asmussen, who was the director of God of War III when it was launched on the Playstation 3. Respawn as a whole is lead by former Infinity Ward director Vince Zampella. So that could be taken that the game is in good hands. Speaking of the members of the team, Söderlund said:

“Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Vince Zampella and his group. Their obsession with making games that feel amazing has helped make Titanfall one of the most successful new game launches of this generation. And now, with a new team led by Stig Asmussen, we get to see what they can do when you combine that great attention to gameplay with the power of Star Wars.”

There is no official word on what the game will be about, or when in the timeline it will take place, but when something does come up, we will pass that information along to you.
