Today, we learned that John Riccitiello, former CEO of Electronic Arts, will be replacing Unity co-founder David Helgason as the company’s CEO. John Riccitello has been on Unity’s board since late last year.

Helgason commented: “He’s the right person to help guide the company to the mission that we set out for ourselves over a decade ago: democratize game development,” Helgason said on the Unity blog this morning. He went to say that he himself will now focus on strategy and connecting with developers, and will still be heavily involved with Unity’s direction.”
