For anyone who was affected by the Playstation Network outages caused by Lizard Squad over Christmas, your compensation has arrived.  Sony has unleashed its two-stage apology and/or thank you to its customers.  First off, e-mails like this one should be going out to anyone who had an active Playstation Plus account during the holiday outage:

Dear XXXX,

We are extending your PlayStation Plus membership for 5 days. The extension will be applied automatically and no action is necessary to receive the extension.

This is to thank you for your patience during the PSN service interruption over the holidays and applies to all PlayStation Plus members that had an active membership or free trial on December 25th.

As the e-mail says, this requires no legwork on the player’s end.  Enjoy that sweet, sweet free time.

Additionally, today is the start of the oddly-short window in which players can use Sony’s 10% Playstation Store discount code.  The code can be redeemed at the store for either the Playstation 3 or 4, or the web browser store here.

The code can be used until 9:00am (PST) on Monday, January 26th.  It’s good for one cart checkout only, so choose wisely and load up!

Keep in mind, there are a few exceptions: “Does not apply to transactions made on PlayStation Store on PS Vita, PlayStation TV, PSP or in-game. Some exclusions apply, including but not limited to PS Plus memberships, Music Unlimited, PS Now content and rental video content.”

I picked up the REmake and Guacamelee.  What titles do you have your eye on?  Let us know in the comments below!
