Battlefield 3 has had one of the most successful game release to date, and one of the most successful series as well so it is no surprise that the developers at DICE are trying to keep the momentum going by giving their fans more action and intensity that this series has become so well known for.
The developers at DICE are following the same format that they used for the very successful Battlefield 2, by announcing the release of not one but three expansions scheduled to come out within the year.
Battlefield 3: Close Quarters – The name says it all, with new maps and weapons to cater to a vehicle-less style of game play. This expansion will attract fans of the game with all the new features available day one. Of course, Battlefield 3 is powered by FrostBite 2 engine so you can expect tons to realistic damage to the map itself.
Battlefield 3: Armored Kill – Now this DLC is my kind of expansion, fans of Battlefield 2 will be reminded of Battlefield 2: Armored Fury where this time it’s all about the vehicles. DICE has always done a remarkable job at balancing armored vehicles and foot soldiers on the battlefield so time around will be no different.
The expansion geared for the end of the year and will be called Battlefield 3: End Game, but there is no information about this title. With a title like “End Game” we can only guess where they are going with this one.
DICE and EA are doing an fanatic job at expanding all aspects of their FPS game, with the release of three different expansion packs in the near future. Each pack will cater to a specific audience making sure that no matter what you style of play is, there is something for you. EA plans to release Battlefield 3: Close Quarters in June, Battlefield 3: Armored Kill in the fall and Battlefield 3: End Game in the winter so there is plenty to look forward to all year long.
