Yooka-Laylee is being dubbed the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie and has gained a lot of momentum from Kickstarter backers and now we officially have a release date for the game. Playtonic Games announced Yooka-Laylee will be available April 11, 2017. The game will cost $40 USD/£35 and will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac and Linux with pre-orders available now. Those that do pre-order will receive an instant unlock for the Yooka-Laylee Toybox demo.

There is some bad news for Wii U owners though as the game has been pulled from the console due to unforeseen technical issues, however Playtonic is working on getting the game available for the Nintendo Switch. Those that backed the game on Kickstarter for the Wii U version can either get the game on another console of their choice, get a full refund, or wait until the game comes out for the Nintendo Switch. How they can go about doing that will be known in January.
