Out with the old, in with the new. Well, still old, but not ancient.

The new game by Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed III, which is set to release on October 30, 2012, is set in the American Revolutionary times. According to Game Informer, it is set in the northeastern United States between 1753 and 1783. The new character, “Connor”, is not Italian like Ezio from previous installments, but rather half English, half Native American. Players will experience short scenes showing Connor being raised by the Mohawk.

Since the other Assassin’s Creed games had you climb up walls and buildings in ancient Italy, it will be a little different in 18th century America. Ubisoft says players will climb trees and mountain cliffs, and will meet American icons such as George Washington and Benjamin Franklin throughout the game.

Below are some updates, changes, and basic information you need to know:

  • Thousands of people in battle on the screen, as opposed to only hundreds
  • Map is 1.5 times bigger than that of Brotherhood.
  • Animus 3.0
  • Setting will change between summer and winter, affecting movement
  • Main weapons considered are tomahawk, knife, and hidden blade

This game looks badass…And I’m not that big of an Assassin’s Creed fan

I’ve played last the last three AC games, I love them. This will probably be one of the best of the series though, definitely.

I like how they keep switching up the time period, first the middle ages, then Italy during the Renaissance now the American Revolution. All very cool locations so this should be one of the better games this year.
