Direct from the mind of Suda51 comes the latest game from WB Games, Lollipop Chainsaw. This title takes the over-the-top style of Suda51 and combines it with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Walking Dead to get a game that is both incredibly unique and incredibly fun. We had the opportunity to speak with the producer behind this game, Scott Warr for a couple of minutes and this is what he had to say. NGN – This is Joe from New Gamer Nation here with the people behind Lollipop Chainsaw. Now can you tell us a little about the game for those unfamiliar?

WB Games – Absolutely, its a game created from Suda51 and for those who don’t know who Suda51 is, he made great games like Killer7, No More Heroes and just recently Shadows of the Damned. He really wanted to make a story that hit more than the stories before so he came to Warner Brothers and said “How do I do this” and we put him in contact with James Gunn. James Gunn has done great movies like Tromeo and Juliet, Slither, Dawn of the Dead remake with Zack Snider and just recently Super and I think the mixture was just awesome. I was a little worried at first because maybe Suda51 never heard of James Gunn or maybe James Gunn never played a Suda game but they actually had. James was a huge fan of Suda and Suda was a huge fan of James Gunn so it worked out great. They basically built the story after many hours and hours of video conferences and then we started with the game creation.

NGN – So what is this game going to offer gamers? We took a look at the single player campaign, are there more modes or anything extra involved?

WB Games – There is a lot but we are only talking about the single player right now. Multiplayer not as much but I can at least say that. There are going to be other modes that you can experience and go through and challenges that you can go through.

NGN – What was the inspiration behind Lollipop Chainsaw, it seems like a random concept?

WB Games – That is just Suda51. I still don’t know where the hell he comes up with these ideas. All I know is when I saw that zombie open in half and the rainbow come out I was immediately in love and I just had to stop trying to figure out how he got the idea and just move forward and get him what he needed.

NGN – Ok so the game is going to be coming out on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Are there any plans for any other consoles?

WB Games – Just PS3 and Xbox 360 for now

NGN – When can we look forward to the game?

WB Games – June 12

This game might be my sleeper of the year…It looks like it’s going to be very fun.

It is very quirky and it is definitely a Suda51 game. If you ever played one of his games you’ll know exactly what I mean.
