In case you missed it, Playstation Experience was held this weekend and a ton of announcements were made regarding the future of the Playstation 4 and Playstation VR. New games were announced, announcements regarding future titles were made, and we even had a few surprises here and there. All in all, there was something for just about every type of gamer. I gathered up a few of my notes from the press conference, did some extra digging, and put them all together in this…

The Top 5 Announcements From Playstation Experience.

5) The Indies Were Represented Well
While we all look forward to the next big Triple A game, like Uncharted 4, some of us want to see what the indie developers have up their sleeve to see something a little different. A good portion of games being published in association with Adult Swim made their presence felt during the conference, as did some games for the upcoming Playstation VR. It’s nice to know indie gaming is getting some recognition out there.

4) New Games coming to the PS4 and Vita
While Bastion coming to the PS4 was a nice touch, gamers also have an HD remastered version of Full Throttle coming from Double Fine. The Bit.Trip, a collection of the first six Bit.Trip games, is headed to the PS4 and Vita. Also coming along is Hitman Go, and the first prequel to the Yakuza series, Yakuza 0 is coming to the PS4.

3) New Games Announced
Playstation gamers have a few new games to look forward to in the coming year or so for their console. A new Ratchet and Clank is due out in the spring, a sequel to Ni No Kuni was announced, as well as a game coming from Epic Games, the makers of the Gears of War franchise. Epic Games closed the press conference by showing off a little bit from their MOBA called Paragon. Fighting game fans have the latest in SNK’s fighting franchise with King of Fighters XIV. If you’re looking forward to the Playstation VR, games like Ace Combat 7, Golem, Modern Zombie Taxi Company, and 100 Foot Robot Golf might help get Playstation VR off the ground.

2) New Features of Upcoming Games
For those already looking forward to games like Uncharted 4, Street Fighter 5, and for those that have Destiny, the Playstation people whet your appetites with some new features and announcements. First off, Destiny is holding an event for three weeks, called the Sparrow Racing League. Players will get to race the sparrows in the game, so if you enjoy that in the game you’ll have that to look forward to. Next up, it was announced Uncharted 4 would have a branching story arc. It seems kind of interesting to see the series take this step after the first three were linear games. Lastly, Street Fighter 5 finally got to reveal a character without a leak. FANG was announced as the last playable character, as well as the first year of characters for Street Fighter V. Balrog and Guile from Street Fighter 2; Alex, Ibuki and Urien from Street Fighter 3; and Juri from Street Fighter 4. All can be purchased right away with a season pass or can be earned for free by earning in game credits.

1) Playstation VR Presence
It looks like VR is set to try to become the next big thing in gaming. With a good portion of games announced for Playstation VR, it looks like Sony is set to try to compete with the other VR sets out there. The press conference spent a good portion of time talking about the games coming to Playstation VR, including the games mentioned earlier, along with a new Psychonauts game (not the crowd-funded sequel). It would seem the only questions that remain is how much the set is going to cost and when it’s going to be available to buy.

That’s the list gamers, so what do you think? Did I leave something off that you think should have been on the list? Let us know in the comments below and for more lists, reviews, features and all things gaming, stay right here on New Gamer Nation.
