In what could be a huge statement made for the world of video games, the opening day of Metal Gear Solid V earned $179 million globally which is more than double that of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Venturebeat reported the earnings have also made more money for Konami’s MGS V with a budget of $80 million to make, while Age of Ultron looked massive in comparison with a $250 million budget.

Konami has stated it may look to focus on mobile games, however they may keep a commitment to creating new titles in the Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hills franchises, as well as their annual franchise in Pro Evolution Soccer. With potentially having that much money on the line, who can blame them?
