One of the best titles shown yesterday at Sony’s PS4 Press Announcement was no doubt Ubisoft’s upcoming game Watch Dogs. Not only did we get a 5 minute preview of the game, but we now know that it will also be a launch title. Led by Ubisoft Montreal, but supported by Ubisoft’s Bucharest, Paris, Quebec, and Reflections studios, Watch Dogs looks to combine the power of the PS4 with intricate and sophisticated game design into a realistic environment and open world.
In the world where we live we are constantly surrounded by our connected society. Just take a look around and see people on their smartphones, laptops, and tablets everywhere you look. Now take that and multiply it by 100. The risk of your privacy and corporate secrets become hacked over these networks becomes a little more scary and that is the environment in which you live in Watch Dogs.
You will take on the role of a new breed of vigilante named Aiden Pearce. Using his smartphone and 1337 haX0r skills he is able to control just about anything in the city of Chicago where he lives including security cameras, being able to download personal information to locate a target, control systems like traffic lights or public transportation, and more.
In case you missed Sony’s presentation yesterday or just want to take another look at Watch Dogs, check out the preview below as well as some screenshots. While Watch Dogs will be a PS4 launch title, in case the PS4 price tag is outrageously high or the system sells like hot cakes and you just can’t get one, you will be able to play it also on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.
