Microsoft has just announced that the Xbox One will be launching in Japan on September 4th. In addition to the launch date, the launch library was announced which include the following titles: Forza 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Sunset Overdrive, Halo on Xbox One, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Thief and Murdered: Soul Suspect.

A number of Japanese developers have also signed on to publish games for the Xbox One including Sega, Konami and Bandai Namco. It seems there is support for the system there despite Japanese preference for the PlayStation brand.
