Evolution, the largest fighting game tournament in the world, had one more spot left on it’s roster and it was up to the fans to put their money where their mouth’s were. It was an extremely tight race that came down to the last ten minutes, but Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom came out on top with a grand total of $71,640. The fan voted game relied upon donations, each donation benefitted Make-a-Wish international and the game with the highest total of donations guaranteed it the ninth spot in EVO.
By winning the players vote Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 has earned the opening slot at Mandalay Bay on Sunday and a $10,000 pot bonus. Close behind was Pokken Tournament with a whopping $62,431, totaling a massive $134,081 between the two games.
