Today, we just learned that Sega will acquire Index Corporation, the parent company of Atlus, for ¥14 billion ($140 million) in November. It is expected that Atlus titles will be used by Sega to make money in the deal as a whole. Sega also speculated that Altus IPs will be expanded into online games, pachislot, pachinko, amusement machine segments. and smartphone titles.

Index Holdings filed for bankruptcy on June 27 and reportedly owes debts of ¥24.5 billion ($224 million).
