A new year, a new episode of the most seasoned podcast in existence. Grizzled Veterans hits the very lucky number 13 and we are now officially on the cusp of the new generation. We discuss and converse about the impending PlayStation 4/Orbis announcement February 20th and I’m so excited my heads about to explode.

Although a little late to the party, GV talks and dissects the Nintendo Direct conference early last month and one of us has done a 180 on the Wii U. Following that, Donovan and I go into our experiences with Ni No Kuni. Is it the savior of JRPG’s as some in the industry are touting? No, but it’s quite good. I also speak about the Devil May Cry re-imagining, DmC. In short, the game delivers and if you’re an action connoisseur, this is for you. Also, we touch on the new releases of Dead Space 3 and Sly Cooper 4.

Lastly, I explain my hiring here as community manager/writer at New Gamer Nation We’re excited to showcase our audio endeavors in a new way and to an even larger audience. As always, thanks for listening and we encourage you to continue the conversation with us here in the comments, on Twitter, or wherever.

First off this was a great podcast to listen to.

I think the February 20th announcement will just show off the console, I think they save the games for E3. I think it might be similar to what Nintendo did with the Wii U a couple years ago at E3 where they have produced segments showing off what the console, and controller can do. I just don’t know how much information we get on the console as far as specs, price, or even launch go, but I think we have a chance of getting either a price and/or a launch window like “Holiday 2013″.

Finally I think Microsoft is going to keep cashing in on games like Halo and Gears of War as long as they keep selling. I see this like the Call of Duty effect to the sense where if it’s still selling then they’re going to keep coming.

Great podcast! Really well done and interesting to listen to.

I can actually see Naughty Dog putting aside Uncharted.  Maybe not forever, but looking at the past Naughty Dog, they always created successful titles, and then they move onto something new.  Especially when a new system comes out.   However, since Naughty Dog is so big now, and they have two teams like you mentioned, maybe they will stick with Uncharted while working on something else. I hate Nintendo because they never change.  But I have friends who love Nintendo for the exact reason that they don’t change.  Nintendo fans are seriously loyal to that system and those games.  Until the fans demand change or stop buying the same old Mario games, I can’t see Nintendo changing. You guys did a good job of talking about Ni No Kuni I thought.  It’s a great game, but there are some combat difficulties.  I can very easily see how new people to JRPGs could have trouble, and the combat can be frustrating especially the A.I.  But, as the game goes on, everything clicks a little more.  The game is much harder in the beginning than the end I felt.

Thanks for listening man. I definitely think there will be an Uncharted game in the launch window for the PS4, after that the second team will likely move onto something else before returning to it. It’s just too strong of a franchise to ignore for a new system launch. Saying that, they’re talented enough to do another new IP so whatever they want to create, I’m down for.

I love the Bob Dylan touch at the end. I recommended Donovan add that when we were recording, glad he did. Fits perfect.
