Ripstone has confirmed that Knytt Underground will be making the transition to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. For those out of the loop, Knytt is a popular indie platformer franchise from Nifflas, previously available on PC. Underground will be a collaboration between both creator Nifflas and Green Hill Studios. Knytt centers on the titular hero who finds himself trapped on an alien world and must hunt down and collect pieces of his crashed spaceship in hopes of escaping.

The PlayStation conversion of the game will include “unique content,” though details are currently being kept under wraps.

The developers commented on the move by saying, “Knytt Underground is the biggest game I’ve ever developed and is the first game where I feel that I have a story to tell. It’s about the big questions; trying to understand life and our place in it – and failing completely.”

If you are looking forward to the game, let us know! Stay tuned for more updates on this and other titles.
