According to the study shared by the New York Times, the sale of violent video games coincides with violence youth crimes, however the correlation isn’t what some might expect. Over the course of the past 16 years, violent youth crime has fallen by half. As a result, violent video game sales have doubled over the same time period. The study was conducted by a group of economists from three different universities around the country. The findings themselves were very interesting and suggested that violent games actually reduce crime. Take a look at the online paper here or read the New York Times analysis here.
