With the release of Mortal Kombat X comes news of some what some would consider a strange downloadable content pack. For 99 cents you can buy five “easy fatalities” and for $4.99 you can buy 30. What are these “easy fatalities” you ask? Well, they’re allow the player to press a couple buttons at the end of the fight to perform a fighter’s final blow to their opponents. Fatalities have been a staple to the Mortal Kombat franchise, which are usually performed through a sequence of well timed button presses.

On top of the Easy Fatalities packs, players can buy the Kombat Pack for $29.99 which offers you early access to 4 playable characters (including Jason Vorhees and Predator), plus skins. Unlocking Goro for the game sells for $4.99. Blue Steel Sub-Zero skin goes for $1.99. And if you don’t feel like grinding through the game, you can unlock all Krypt items for $19.99. All this together with the purchase of the $59.99 game goes for over $120 with taxes included.

So now’s the chance to sound off gamers, do the easy fatalities cheapen or water down the gameplay? Are you going to buy any of the DLC for Mortal Kombat? Or are you going to be like me and just wait until they release the game with all the DLC included in the game? Let us know in the comment section below.
