Let’s face it, after a long night of multiplayer action and a few hours of digital adventuring player are bound to get hungry.  There aren’t many snacks out there that cater to the gaming community but at long last a company has taken up the cause to make a video gamer friendly snack.  Other snacks like pizza or sandwiches are great but their ingrediants leak and can spill on your clothes, or worse, on your controllers.  Gamer Grub has the solution for all your snacking needs with a new line of gamer friendly snacks specially designed to fill you up while preventing all the problems of convential snacks.  Gamer Grub is grease free so there is no residue on your hands if you touch it and it doesn’t stain if you get it on your clothes.  The bag itself is resealable and is designed to deliver the snacks without having to be handled.  This sounds crazy but if you are in the middle of a tense game of Starcraft 2 or running around a map during a deathmatch, you don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to preparing and eating snacks.  With Gamer Grub you can just grab the bag and get it in your mouth and ingested quicker than anything else.  Maybe this isn’t a vital option for the everyday gamer but I can see certain situations where this will be a very important option.

I personally found Gamer Grub to be a surprisingly tasty and convienant snack.  I had the privledge to try the “Pizza” and the “Peanut Butter and Jelly” flavors.  The “Pizza” flavor resembled a Chex party mix but its exact ingredients were Cheese Curls, Tomato flavored Almonds, Sesame Sticks, Pita Chips, Fried Onions (similar to green bean casserole topping)  and Pizza Cashews.  This flavor was tasty and had more of a cheese flavor than pizza as far as I could tell.  My favorite flavor of the two I tried was the “Peanut Butter and Jelly Flavor”.  This flavor was much sweeter and softer than the “Pizza” flavor and was the most unique snack I’ve seen.  I suppose you could compare the texture and taste to a breakfast cereal but the individual pieces are denser and more flavorful than cereal.  The ingredients are Peanut Butter Chips, Peanuts, Strawberries, Strawberry Jelly Chips and Sweet Bread.  No matter which flavor appeals to you, you can’t go wrong since both varieties were very tasty and had similar benefits to the gamer.

Gamer Grub is a niche product and specifically designed with a core audience in mind but it certainly doesn’t limit its appeal to the gaming audience in general.  Sure, some of the features are specific to competitive gaming but I feel that most people would enjoy Gamer Grub as just a regular snack as opposed to a performance product.  The packaging states that there are neurotransmitters in the snack to help improve reaction times but I couldn’t see much of a difference in that respect.  After eating the product I did feel more awake but I don’t know that I can attribute that to the additives or the sugar rush to my bloodstream.  That point aside I felt that Gamer Grub was a good snack and those inclined to try this should definitely not hesitate.  I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great tasting snack with a video gaming twist.
