Nintendo has announced in a press release, the confirmation of New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. The side scrolling sequel is due to hit North American shelves in August. Also announced, was a system update for the 3DS, allowing users to create folders in the HOME Menu to organize their content.

Also announced, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Kirby, is a compilation disc for the Nintendo Wii. The disc will contain a variety of previously released titles, and will be released later this year.

For Kid Icarus fans, Nintendo will release reruns of the Kid Icarus anime series to it’s video service April 28.

It sounds like Nintendo has a little something for everyone planned. I’m sure the Zelda fans will be waiting though. I’m waiting for something Donkey Kong related, though. We know the Wii U will be heavily showcased later on this year, but is there anything else you want to see from Nintendo? Sound off in the comment section below.
