In an interview with Geoff Keighley of GameTrailers, Naughty Dog shows off some more gameplay footage of the upcoming game The Last of Us. The footage focuses on the zombie-like enemies known as the “infected.”
The infected are previously human, fungus headed creatures that behave in the same way as zombies. The infected have the ability to evolve after their initial infection going from stage 1 to stage 2 to stage 3. Once the infection has reached its final stage the creatures can no longer see forcing them to resort to echo location to find their prey. In the interview, the directors of the game describe two of the infected classes, the Runners and the Clickers. The Runners are infected that still have the ability to see and the the Clickers are the infected that have reached the final stage of the infection.
Unlike the previous platforming and stealth footage Naughty Dog shown of the game, this video is focused more on the scarier part of the game.
