For the first time in the Street Fighter franchise, Street Fighter V will include a story mode of sorts. The Playstation Blog revealed Street Fighter V will recieve a free story expansion in June. The story covers each fighter’s motivation, and is said to take place between Street Fighter III and IV. You can check out the trailer below.

Capcom also revealed to IGN how the in game currency system would work. The in-game currency called “Fight Money” and playing offline activities such as completing arcade will earn you Fight Money. Playing through most of the offline content should get you enough Fight Money to buy one new character. Daily missions will also be another way of earning extra Fight Money, but playing online will earn Fight Money at a bit of a faster rate. The first of the new characters is due in March. Street Fighter V is set to be released on February 16 of this year.
