Capcom has just confirmed that the PC version of Resident Evil 6 will be available as a digital download in North America on Friday March 22, 2013. European PC gamers will be able to purchase both the digital version and a disc based version on the same date. Both the digital and retail versions of Resident Evil 6 PC will contain all the content found in the original console release plus receive any additions contained in any free title updates such as Ada Wong’s campaign and the No Hope difficulty mode.

In other Resident Evil 6 news, a second free title update will be available on January 22, 2013. This follows the first free update for the game which is available today. This second free update will deliver the following enhancements:

Agent Hunt Mode
  • Available without having to complete a campaign
  • Selectable criteria for joining a session
  • Stage selection
  • Region selection
  • Players can determine whether to join a session based on campaign player’s settings such as infinite ammo or friendly fire setting
Stage selection
  • Individual stages within chapters can be accessed at any time once completed
General
  • QTE assist
  • QTE assist is currently part of the Amateur difficulty level, and automatically completes QTEs for the player. With this update, players can optionally activate QTE assist on any difficulty level.
  • Adjustments
  • Some sections of the game have had their difficulty adjusted to provide an improved experience
 Finally, Xbox 360 owners will be able to purchase Resident Evil 6 as a digital download when it releases as a Games On Demand title this holiday season.
