Razer, the PC gaming accessory company, has announced they’ve acquired the assets, technical team, and developer relations personnel of Ouya. Razer stated they are not have any interest in Ouya’s hardware, but are instead only interested in using the Ouya name with publishing content on Android TV and other Android-based games. The Ouya storefront will now be called “Cortex for Android TV” and will transition Cortex TV platform on Razer’s Android based micro-console, Forge TV.

The Ouya started off a Kickstarter campaign in July of 2012, which earned 8.5 million dollars. Soon after problems arose for the console and general interest fell upon it’s release.

What do you think gamers, is this the final nail in Ouya’s coffin or is this the first step in resurrecting the console? Let us know in the comments below and for all things gaming stay right here to New Gamer Nation.
