News: Epic Games opens Unreal Engine 4 focused Studio in Seattle

Epic Games has announced that they will be opening a new studio in Seattle, Washington with a primary focus on pumping out their new game engine, the Unreal Engine 4. The studio will also be looking to hire fresh new minds to work with their engineers as Epic has posted job listings for several positions on the official Epic site. Michael Capps, President of Epic Games says

““The proximity to key partners, the density of world-class talent and all the factors that make Seattle an attractive place to live convinced us that it is the perfect locale for Epic’s West Coast operation.” “We are looking to hire even more of the best engineers around to contribute to Unreal Engine 4, which we believe is set to change the way we all make games.”

The positions on offer include Animations Systems Programmer, Audio Tools Programmer, Engine Programmer, Java/Online Server Programmer, Lead Online Programmer, Rendering Programer and Tools Programmer. The job information also states that Epic is looking for “senior-level talent specializing in online game services and the infrastructure to support them”, perhaps gamers will be seeing new online features implemented by upcoming next generation games.
