Microsoft has just announced that they have purchased the IP rights for the Gears of War franchise. As part of the same announcement, Microsoft said that development of the franchise will continue with Black Tusk Studios of Vancouver, B.C. Finally, Rod Ferguson, the former director of production of the series at Epic, will join Microsoft and help oversee the property at Black Tusk.
It seems like Gears of War will be an Xbox exclusive franchise for a long time to come.
