Executive producer for Infinity Ward, Mark Rubin, sat down with Gamespot to discuss dedicated servers for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts. In the interview, Mark Rubin explained that during the initial release of Call of Duty 4, server technology at the time could not keep up with the sheer number of players. He explains that server technology has greatly improved and dedicated servers for Call of Duty: Ghosts will utilize the cloud technology of the Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Infinity Ward is no stranger to controversy when it comes to servers. Before the release of Modern Warfare 2, a (largely unsuccessful) boycott of the game garnered hundreds of thousands of signatures and numerous Steam groups when Infinity Ward announced the removal of user-based servers.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and WiiU on November 5th, 2013. It will also be released for the Playstation 4 on November 15th, 2013 and the Xbox One on an unannounced date in November, 2013 and can be pre-ordered from the official website.
