Tom-Clancy-Ghost-Recon-Online-1

Reiterating its statement from September 2012, Ubisoft said on its official Twitter account that Ghost Recon Online for the Wii U is “currently on hold.” The company is instead focusing on developing the PC version of the game.

This news might seem like a further blow to the Wii U, which is struggling with poor sales and EA‘s recent announcement. However, Ubisoft remains committed to the fledgling console. A Ubisoft spokesperson told GamesIndustry International that “as with any new console, it takes some time to grow an established base.” They went on to state that the company intends to support the Wii U with titles like Assassin’s Creed IV, Watch Dogs, and Rayman Legends.

Although the PC version of Ghost Recon Online was released in August of last year, a release date for the Wii U version has yet to be announced.
