In a massive Twitter altercation, Phil Fish, developer of Fez, had a shootout with Marcus Beer (AKA ‘Annoyed Gamer’) after an episode of Game Trailers’ Invisible Walls in which Beer criticized Phil Fish for not releasing any quotes to Game Informer about Microsoft’s’ policy shift of independent development. Fish claims he was waiting for Microsoft to officially confirm the changes before giving any feedback on the subject. When Fish found out about the statements that Beer made, he unleashed in a Twitter rant, going as far to tell Beer to kill himself and eventually announced that Fez 2 will be cancelled.

Microsoft has had multiple policy changes since this years E3 and has affected the gaming scene in multiple ways; the cancellation of Fez 2, however, is certainly out of left field.
