Today’s Nintendo Direct delivered sad news for Donkey Kong fans.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, the upcoming Wii U installment of the popular franchise originally coming out at the end of 2013, is delayed until Feburary 2014.

Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata explained the delay in the Nintendo Direct video stating, “…previously, we announced that this title would launch in North America this year; however, in order to deliver the optimum gaming experience, we need a little more time for development of this title.”
