Many gamers have been waiting for Cuphead, a side-scroller drawn in the style of 1930’s animation since it was revealed as a part of Microsoft’s indy showcase at E3 2014. It looks like those looking forward to playing it will have to wait until the middle of next year to finally play it. Studio MDHR announced they wanted to maintain the vision of the game and to keep it intact, they made the decision to delay it into next year.

“Hey everyone, we wanted to finish our game 80 years after 1936 but it will now be 81.

Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact. We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017.

We are constantly humbled by your continued support. Love you all and can’t wait to get this to you. Without further ado, we will get back to work!”

This would mark the second time the game has been delayed as it was expected to be released last year.

What do you think gamers? Do you think this delay will help make the game better in the long run or is the anticipation building more hype the game might not live up to? Let us know in the comment section below and stay right here to New Gamer Nation as your source for all things gaming.
