It was just confirmed that King, developers of the Candy Crush franchise, filed for abandonment of the trademark ‘Candy’ in the United States. If you remember, King filed for the trademark last year which caused a controversy in the gaming community. It is unclear why King decided to abandon the trademark, but it seems that was the right thing to do.
