Players of Assassin’s Creed Unity surely noticed all those unopenable blue and gold chests littered around the map in-game. Those chests were unlocked if you downloaded the ACU companion app by sending initiates on missions. It was a completely unnecessary addition to the game that made a very long game even longer. Fans were not happy about having to play the app to get in-game rewards so Ubisoft is now removing the link and all chests will be unlocked. Ubisoft released a statement for the news:

“We will be unlocking all content exclusive to Initiates and the Companion App, including both blue and gold chests. Players can still progress on the Companion App, they just will no longer be required to complete content to unlock in-game chests.”

The patch is due later this week and it will also fix some bugs from the game. What do you think of the news? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter.
