Xbox One’s achievements will follow players and sync through the cloud, according to Microsoft representatives. There were already rumors that developers can add achievements to games without the need of adding additional DLC, however the scope of achievements will include more than just games. Things like community events and challenges will also have achievements attached. The representatives assured the media that the focus of achievements are still the games themselves. The new achievements portal not only keeps track of what you earned, but how you earned it adding a new dimension to the system.
There is still no word of whether your current achievements will carry over to the new system or not.
