Wii U Sales Continue to Slump

According to the NPD reports for January, the Wii U sold 57,000 units. However, the Xbox 360 sold 281,000 during the same time period. Even when compared to the original Wii, during this sales period for the Wii, sales are down 38%.

GameStop Chief Financial Officer Rob Lloyd blames the lack of success on the lack of games available for the system. Meanwhile, Activision CEO Robert Kotick is just disappointed in the launch and reception of the hardware itself.  Either way you slice it, the system is not meeting expectations across the board. Even Nintendo cut their expectation for the system by 27%. As time moves forward, the system seems to grab gamers less and less. Here is hoping Nintendo finds a way to make the Wii U more attractive to gamers.
