Wargaming, a Belarus-based studio known for their strategy games, has purchased Day 1 Studios for $20 million dollars. Day 1 Studios is known for developing F.E.A.R. 3. This may seem like an odd pairing but Wargaming hopes to make a move into the console space and they see Day 1 Studios as a way to do that.
Up until now, Day 1 has been working on a mech game called Reign of Thunder, however it lost a publishing deal with Konami that lead the studio to downsize. Wargaming said that the studio is working on an unannounced console title.
