Ubisoft has just announced that the next installment in the Far Cry series (Far Cry 4) will be making its way to PCs and a console near you in the not too distant future. The open-world, FPS game is scheduled for release on November 18th here in the US for the PS3, 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. Development continues to be led by Ubisoft Montreal and is joined with Red Storm Entertainment (an Ubisoft studio), Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Kiev.

Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations. Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.

This time around, players will find themselves in Kyrat, a gorgeous (yet dangerous) region of the Himalayas and will host the items you would expect from a Far Cry game including a ton of weapons, vehicles, animals to hunt, and people to kill. Expect Ubisoft to go into much more detail during their media briefing at E3. If you are into the whole preorder bonus thing, customers who pre-order Far Cry 4 will receive a free upgrade to the Limited Edition which will include a series of three single player missions (Hurk’s Redemption) which utilize the character Hurk from the Far Cry 3 DLC. The limited edition will also include Hurk’s signature harpoon gun.
