Ubisoft has a good grasp of which IPs fans want more and more of and the Tom Clancy franchise is definitely one of them. With Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist launching later this summer, Ubisoft is already hard at work on developing a new title in the Tom Clancy Universe entitled, Tom Clancy’s The Division.
Tom Clancy’s The Division will take place in New York a mere three weeks after a lethal virus has swept through the city. As basic services fail one at a time, society plunges into chaos and madness. The President invokes Presidential Directive 51 and a top-secret unit of of tactical agents is activated, The Division. Trained to operate independently of command in emergency situations, when the lights go out, their mission begins.
Our goal with Tom Clancy’s The Division is nothing short of completely changing the way people play online RPGs. With the power of next-gen consoles behind it, The Division puts players in the middle of breathtaking, persistent multiplayer thriller in which they will explore, fight and work together as modern society collapses around them, all with the authenticity for which Tom Clancy’s games are renowned.

Currently being developed by the Sweden-based Ubisoft studio Massive Entertainment (known for the World in Conflict series), Tom Clancy’s The Division will be making its way to next generation consoles in 2014.
