A tweet from the official Playstation twitter account has confirmed that the servers for PS3 games MAG, SOCOM: Confrontation and SOCOM 4 will be shutting down. The date set is for January 28th, 2014.
Since Sony is gearing up for the PS4 launch, they more than likely do not see a reason to continue supporting these games. MAG will be just shy of 4 years when the servers go down, while Confrontation will be into it’s 6th. SOCOM 4 was the worst selling numbered entry in the series, so that probably attributed to it’s closure.
