According to Bloomberg, Sony is considering splitting up the Electronics company from the Entertainment company. The talks between Sony, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley revolve around a proposal for a sale of the Entertainment unit. Sony has been lightly feeling the market for someone to buy the electronics side of the company. However, they made it clear that the entertainment side of Sony is not for sale.

This should not come as a surprise seeing as Sony has been having a hard time getting its electronics division to take off. They also have been dumping assets all over the globe to cover the losses from that division.
