Shortages of Ni No Kuni: Wizard’s Edition Lead to Astronomical Prices

Namco Bandai decided to offer fans of Ni No Kuni, an opportunity to pre-order the game with them to secure a special, limited edition of the game. This limited edition was known as the Wizard’s Edition and it was exclusive to the Namco Bandai store. The edition was extremely popular and sold out quickly. However, things got worse when a computer glitch led to the product being oversold. Scores of fans lost their pre-orders and fans that managed to get their orders honored, still haven’t received the game despite its release on Tuesday.

The story took a turn today when an online retailer, PlayCanada, was discovered to have over 200 copies of the game and they have been selling the game, originally priced at $99, for $400 each. Fans became outraged and have been filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Additionally, a Facebook group was started to combat Namco Bandai’s practices.

Namco Bandai has yet to comment on the situation, but stay tuned for future updates.
