Renaissance Heroes, the class-based free-to-play shooter set in the 16th century, is hosting a free open beta from January 22nd to February 6th.

According to the press release, the beta will introduce “the new European server, several new game elements, including two new characters and maps, as well as a new play mode. Players will also have the opportunity to participate in daily events to win prizes.”

The new features being unveiled are the Touch Down game mode, new characters Bart and Medici, the Castle Skyros and Atelier in Ruins maps, and the European server.

According to Matthew Lenehan, the lead producer at (Renaissance Heroes’s publisher), “This beta launch will have no data wipe, enabling players to get a head start before the game hits commercial launch in late Q1, 2013.”

You can download the beta from GameFuse if the prospect of blasting your foes to bits with 16th-century weaponry is appealing, and check out the beta launch trailer below.
