Rayman Legends Multi-platform Release – Be Patient

Ubisoft announced today that Rayman Legends will be getting some love on consoles besides the Wii U, which will include the PS3 and Xbox 360. The downside though is that you will have to wait until September 2013 to get your grubby mitts on the game.

The good news however is that the game is being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, which is the same team that brought you the Wii U game.

We heard from many Xbox 360 & Playstation 3 owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system. We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game.

Rayman Legends keeps the fantasy appeal from previous games that fans have come to love all the while adding multiple (and fun) game modes, new characters, new environments, and a new soundtrack. Additionally the award-winning teams of artists, designers, and composers from Rayman Origins are back on the job with an all new engine (UbiArt) to include multi-dimension gameplay elements, an improved lighting system, and updated game rendering to make the graphics really pop.

While it is always great to see games you love be released on other consoles, thus allowing other people that don’t own the original exclusive console a chance to play a great game, it does suck that it is going to take so long to get out to the masses. Though if you are truly honest with yourself, you will know in your heart of hearts that you would rather wait for a clean and polished product then a straight port that is flawed beyond measure. Besides is September really that far away…*sigh*
