Well in a move that has to suck for Microsoft… Sony just announced the PlayStation 4 would release at $399. They didn’t actually announce a release date, but it will be out later this year. It’ll be $399/€399 and £349.
One could only imagine this spell trouble for Microsoft. Their console is going to be released at $499, so a whole $100 dollar difference. Remember when the PS3 came out they had the highest price point at $599… so anything can happen from here on out. Certainly though, the cheaper has a solid advantage going in to the released.
