Nintendo made some news today by dropping the MSRP of the Wii U by $50 dollars. The Wii U will now come with a copy of Wind Waker HD and cost $299. The basic Wii U bundle is still priced at $299 due to low inventory and it is safe to assume the new Wind Waker bundle will replace the basic bundle as is.

In addition to the price drop, Nintendo has introduced the Nintendo 2DS. The 2DS is functionally the same as the 3DS except it does not include the ability to display 3D. It also ditched the clamshell design for a more traditional Gameboy-esque look. Nintendo was quick to admit that this model is not for everyone and it specifically targets those that buy the new Wii U bundle. The 2DS will retail for $129 and launches on October 10th.
