News: Worms Revolution release announced

by

The next title in the ever-popular Worms series, Worms Revolution, will be released on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on October 10, 2012.  The game will be available as a digital download from the Xbox Live Marketplace, the Playstation Store, or Steam on the PC.

The latest entry in the long-established series features a few key changes to the core gameplay, hence the title ‘Revolution’.  These include 3D environments played from a 2D point of view, different classes of worms (such as scout, medic, etc.), and new physics which allow landscape objects and water to be moved and utilised as weapons.

If you plan to play on the PC, the pre-order is available on Steam now, and also includes a copy of Worms Armageddon .  Currently this is the only way to obtain Worms Armageddon on Steam, but, no doubt, it will see a standalone release at some point.  In addition to this, exclusive in-game content and bonus campaign missions are included with the pre-order as well.  The price on PC is £11.99 or $14.99.

Also, as is the current trend, a ‘season pass’ is available on Steam which gives access to all upcoming DLC for the game.  All in all, before the end of 2012, there are 4 planned DLC packs, which include a level editor and three themed packs.

Keep with New Gamer Nation for a full review of the game once it is released.
