News: Walking Dead Going to Retail, Second Season Confirmed

by
Telltale, the developer of the episodic Walking Dead adventure, announced that it will be going to retail. The episodes have been available to download for £4 individually on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Alternatively, there is a £15.99 season pass that includes all five episodes, of which the first 2 are available for immediate download.

The studio has also confirmed that a second season of games is already planed. Telltales VP of marketing Steve Allison said “We believe there is no better company than Telltale to bring complex narrative IP to interactive entertainment, Our first episodic game series based on The Walking Dead has sold nearly 1.7m episodes to consumers in just our first eight weeks with no signs of slowing down. We have three more episodes to go with Episode 3 targeted for August. Following the digital release of our fifth episode we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do.”
