It has been reported that Sony Liverpool Studio has been closed. Founded in 1984, as Psygnosis Studios and later acquired by Sony in 1993 and renamed SCE Studio Liverpool in 2001, the developer is responsible for several games including Wipeout, Colony Wa

rs and G-Police among others.

Sandy Loban for Sony tweeted the news stating:

Back in 2010, the studio was restructured for “project prioritization”, cancelling a number of projects in the process. This is truly the end of an era and we are sad to see it go. If you feel the same, be sure to leave comments in the comments section below and let us know how you feel.
