News: Reports of Vitas Burning While Charging

by

A Japanese government agency is investigating reports of the PlayStation Vita‘s charging port burning while plugged in. According to a Japanese newspaper, there have been 31 cases reported; 23 in Japan and the remaining 8 in the United States, UK, and Australia.

When asked to comment on the matter, Sony has stated that the problem lies not in a product malfunction, but in people letting liquids get inside the port. Sony has also said that individuals will have to pay for their own repairs, and that there will not be a recall at this time.

This is seriously ridiculous. It hasn’t even been an year and Sony’s newest console is getting ripped apart, and Sony doesn’t even have contingency plans to fix it, nor do they intend to help people who have had this problem.
