It’s been a while since Ubisoft released new information on Rainbow Six: Patriots. Basically, it’s been kept quiet since its 2011 reveal. It was believed that this entry to the Rainbow Six series would release on the current generation of consoles, but after an interview with Polygon, it may now instead be released onto the next generation of consoles.

When asked directly whether or not the game would release on the next gen consoles, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot responded by stating “there’s a good chance it can be. The only thing I can say is that we have a good team working on it, and it’s really looking good.” This reconfirms the work is still underway especially after the shake up to the development team earlier this year.

Rainbow Six: Patriots pits the players in the role of an international counter-terrorist group called Rainbow Six. The team is called into New York to stop a terrorist group called the True Patriots. The game will focus on moral decisions made by the player that will alter the progression of story according to the decisions made.

Rainbow Six: Patriots is currently scheduled for a release sometime during 2013.
