Earlier this week Nintendo announced that developer, Namco Bandai Games, would be teaming up with Smash Bros. developer Sora Ltd. for the next Super Smash Bros game. Series director Masahiro Sakurai stated that this title has “just gotten started” for both the Wii U and 3DS platforms, and according to Namco Bandai producer Masaya Kobayashi, “all the top creators from Namco Bandai are gathered here to create a never-before-seen dream team for this project. We will fully utilize our experience and knowledge in action/fighting game development, technical capability, and organizational strength.”

Namco Bandai has quite the track record when it comes to fighting titles. They’ve developed all of the Tekken titles as well as the Soulcalibur series, so it will be very interesting to see what they can add to the Super Smash Bros. formula.
